Steve Slaton Appliance Repair is a Katy-based appliance repair company with a deliberately simple approach: test the appliance before quoting a price, agree on one flat number before opening anything, and give you an honest answer when repair does not make financial sense.

Why we built it this way

Appliance repair has a reputation for estimates that grow once someone is in your home, and for changing parts until the machine works — which substitutes guessing for proper diagnosis. We built this company around the opposite: instruments first, one price after, your approval before any work begins.

The technicians who make the visits

The same core group handles every call in our service area. They carry manufacturer diagnostic tools and current service documentation for the brands that fill kitchens across Katy, Fulshear, Richmond and Sugar Land — GE and Whirlpool laundry, Samsung and LG refrigerators, Bosch and Miele dishwashers, Sub-Zero cooling, and Wolf and Thermador cooking equipment. All are EPA 608 certified for refrigerant work.

One standard applies on every visit: describe what was found and what it will take to fix it in plain language, before money comes up.

Our service area, and why we keep it this size

Katy, Fulshear, Richmond and Sugar Land. All four carry the same flat rate — no premium for one ZIP code over another, no mileage fee for the edges of the coverage area. Keeping the route this size is what makes a two-hour arrival window a commitment rather than an aspiration.

A few things we do that not everyone does

Test before pricing. One meter reading often determines whether the right repair costs $80 or $600. We do not swap parts and hope.

Document what we install. Every part number goes on your invoice so you can look it up and verify what was installed. That is not standard in this industry.

Handle built-in appliances carefully. Getting a panel-ready refrigerator or an integrated dishwasher out of fitted cabinetry without leaving marks is slow work. We take the time.

Say so when it is time to replace. If a repair costs more than the appliance is likely worth over its remaining life, we tell you before you commit to paying for it.
